YILPINJI: Love Magic Ceremony
From May 11 - June 3, 2006.
An exhibition of fine art prints by Old Masters of Balgo Hills, Yuenduma and
Lajamanu explores the powerful tradition of love and magic rituals amongst
the Kukatju and Warlpiri peoples of the Tanami Desert region. The
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheehan and Professor Coll recently purchased this
suite of limited edition fine art prints for the University. The framed
prints (etchings, block prints, screen prints) will be available for
exhibition at the other ACU galleries before their installation in the new
Clancy Building at Strathfield Campus.
Thames and Hudson Publishers are releasing a book of the same title in May 2006. Dr Christine Nicholls from Flinders University wrote the text and opened the Sydney exhibition on 11 May.
