unzipped: The ACU Graduating BVAD Students Exhibition

BVAD Graduating Students

Year 3 Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design students have devised this exhibition of artworks and graphic designs during the last year of their studies at ACU National. The consolidation and synthesis of three years of study in art history and theory, graphic design and studio practice has guided each student into an individual area of interest.

The scope of the work exhibited in UNZIPPED is a testament to the individual journey that has been undertaken by each of these students, a journey that has been both liberating and affirming. These qualities are evident in the work exhibited, and are demonstrated by the reflective approach to social issues and personal and professional concerns that underpin the content of each of the works. The diversity of media and techniques used to represent these ideas is remarkable (including web page design, logos and corporate identity, Animation, photography, printmaking, painting, drawing and sculpture) and further exemplifies the individual approaches to artmaking and design pursued by these students.

This exhibition provides a highlight in the academic career of these students and they have all sensed the significance of this exhibition for their future careers as visual artists and graphic designers.

Australian Catholic University is justifiably proud of these students and the work that they have created for their graduating exhibition and we wish them well in their future careers.

This exhibition was held from November 10 to December 3, 2005.
